European Developers’ salaries in 2016 #Infographic #SoftwareDevelopment

Nowadays, the profession of a developer is considered to be listed among the best-paid jobs. Many young people chose this subject at college and got their degrees. Moreover, more and more people would like to shift their current job to software engineering. And there is nothing strange about that. Just look at the numbers we have gathered for you in an infographic, which sums up the state of software development in the last year.

The survey, which was done by O’Reilly team, shows that most used technologies were Javascript, Python, HTML, CSS, Java and Bash. At the same time, Java alongside PHP and C/C++, were still used by developers, however not so frequently as before. At the same time, StackOverflow website provides us with the information that the top paid technologies last year were F#, Dart, Spark, Hadoop, Clojure, Cassandra, Scala, Redis, Go, Salesforce, Cloud (AWS, Azure, GAE, etc.).

According to statistics, the top industries (where the programmers earned the highest salaries) were software development and IT consulting. And, at the same time, the largest number of companies on the market is around 20 or more years old. The respondents who took part in the survey are in their thirties and forties and have more than five years of experience in their job.

If you are a developer, you can get the highest salary in Japan, Switzerland and the USA. At the same time, your salary will be higher if you are located in Northern and Western Europe than in the Eastern side. You can have even more money if you are fond of cloud-related technologies and use such languages as Swift, Scala, Go or Python.
