As they prepare to take on this challenge, there are flooding complications that every homeowner should be aware of. The complications from electrical, mold and foundation damage should be top of the mind for these homeowners.

Signs of foundation damage include a learning chimney, cracks in your walls, and sinking spots near foundation walls. Mold damage is usually identified by a visible growth, distinct smell, or a gradual onset of allergies. Lastly, electrical damage can typically be identified by flickering lights or outlets that are hot to the touch. If you’re concerned that your home may have previously suffered from water damage or if it recently suffered from water damage, make sure to check out all of the possible signs of water damage. Follow the recommended actions, and never enter a home that was flooded without having a professional check it out first.
