At one point or another, we have all stared at a lock and thought to ourselves, “I wish I could open this.” Whether it be a lost or broken key, locking yourself out of your home, or simply impressing your friends by unlocking an ordinary padlock, lock picking is a skill-set that we all wish we could have, but fear is too complicated or time-consuming to learn. But truth be told, lock picking is an extremely simple skill to acquire and implement as the average lock can be picked quite easily with little knowledge of how they actually work.
This visual guide was designed to extract only the essential components of picking a lock that any novice can easily mimic. While there is of course much more to the skill of lock picking than these 7 simple steps, this guide is enough to help anyone find success in picking their first lock.
