The best hearing apps 2018 #infographic

Is it possible to use my iPhone or Android phone to test my hearing or even hear better? Yes, it’s possible! To save you time and help you to hear better Eartech a have produced this infographic visualizing the best hearing apps for 2018.

It is expected that 5% of the population in the world is hearing impaired and that there are 2,53 billion smartphones worldwide (2018). How can these smartphones help an individual from getting hearing impairment or help you if you have a hearing problem to hear sounds better? The potential for smartphones and hearing apps are enormous. Our favorite apps cover different fields like hearing tests, amplification, noise measurement, giving visual and sound signals and to seamlessly tuning in to public televisions with the volume turned off.

There are apps that amplify sounds like HearingAmp and that is a good choice if you want to hear better. The app SoundAlert helps you if you have a more severe hearing loss to manage the daily life better with visuals when for example your doorbell rings. Other apps, like Hearing Check and Hearing Loss Simulator, give you an opportunity to check your hearing and simulate a hearing loss. It could be very beneficial for your family to get an idea of how it is to have a problem with hearing. A very popular app is Tunity that enables you to connect to TV’s that has the sound turned off. With this app, which works very good in gyms or hospitals, you can hear your favorite broadcast in your hearing aids or in your headphones.

We always recommend people to contact an audiologist to do a proper hearing test if you suspect that you, or a relative, have a hearing loss. Different hearing apps can help out but not substitute a programmed hearing aid by a professional. Welcome to a world of better hearing!

Who are the angriest, happiest and saddest artists of all time? #Infographic #Music

When making music, usually a lot of thought and emotion goes into the process. This can mean that a certain song or artist makes you feel a certain way. For example, Taylor Swift may make you feel joy, but Elvis makes you feel angry. This intrigued the guys at Superfi, so they did some research and found out some interesting things about artists and their music.

IBM’s ‘Watson’ software was used to discover the real emotions that artists express with their music. Surprisingly, the fear level on Coldplay’s music was particularly high, with only a little bit of joy. The rolling stones, however, show their real emotion with a high level of anger, and not much else. The software can not only tell emotions, but it also tells us a little more about the artists. Like how extroverted they are and unsurprisingly, Rihanna and Frank Sinatra come in on top followed by artists like Ariana Grande and Adele. Though U2 and Iron Maiden come in low, especially for artists that are always in the spotlight.

The most common emotion was fear, with around 48% of all artists scoring over 50% in the fear category. Now, this was considered a little deeper, and they found that 20% were barely afraid, 32% were fairly afraid and 48% were very afraid.

In the Rolling Stone magazine, Bob Dylan’s song ‘Like a Rolling Stone’ was voted best song of all time in both 2004 and 2010. The song, of course, had to be analyzed. This song had three main emotions, such as disgust, anger and sadness. Though, throughout his career, the prominent emotion was fear, followed by anger and small amounts of sadness and joy.

Music can make us feel a certain way with the lyrics or the rhythm although, our opinions can be bias due to our favorite artists. This Watson software shows all the emotions used through one’s career with the bias opinions. Have a look through and see which analysis surprises you!

HOW TO PLAY 10 HIT SONGS ON PIANO #INFOGRAPHIC #PIANO #EDUCATION

Learning how to play piano the slow, “traditional” way can be frustrating and unmotivating. Many students give up because the road to playing songs they enjoy feels daunting and too long. Believe it or not, it is much easier to learn a popular song by artists such as Adele, Imagine Dragons, and 21 Pilots than it is to learn site reading and music theory from the beginning.

While learning music theory and site reading is important, all it takes is three fingers and a little knowledge of the notes on the keyboard to at least start playing songs you love. This infographic will show you how to play 10 hit songs on piano in a very simple, and easy to read way. Take your time and remember to practice each song multiple times until you get the hang of it.
